Ohana - a Hawaiian word meaning family.

Family means no one gets left behind or forgotten.

Here at Ohana Ponies we believe in bringing a little bit of magic and happiness to everyone we meet.

Why choose animal therapy?

Spending time with an animal has been scientifically proven to reduce stress levels.  This is because stroking an animal releases endorphins, which have a calming effect. It is particularly beneficial for dementia patients and those suffering from an illness. Spending time with an animal can help reduce feelings of isolation and loneliness, encourages communication, socialising skills and can provide comfort during difficult times.

Animals are able to make connections and provide a judgment-free experience that may not be possible in human to human interactions.

We realise that many people may not be in a position to own a pet - especially a miniature pony, which is why we can come to visit you!

We are fully licensed to exhibit and perform activities with animals through Herefordshire County Council.

Our AAL number is: N- PERF45. License holder: Mrs Heather Gyenge.

As part of our Animal Activities License we abide by very strict welfare requirements for all animals in our care.

We will never participate in any activity that may risk their wellbeing.

We also hold full public liability insurance.
